A most alarming loss
Some of the names on that defense have changed, but Seattle's inability to get anything in the way of a stop seems to have carried over from last season.
I’ve seen the Seahawks suffer worse losses under Pete Carroll. That’s true both in terms of margin and significance.
In fact, I’ve seen them suffer worse losses at home to the Rams. There was the 42-7 defeat in December 2017, which announced Seattle had been knocked from its perch as the reigning division heavyweight. There was also the 10-point loss the Rams dealt Seattle in the first round of the playoffs three years later, which was especially painful because that was a 12-win Seahawks team and the Rams were missing Jared Goff and Aaron Donald and Seattle still couldn’t do much of anything.
However, it’s hard for me to think of a more alarming loss than the 30-13 Seattle suffered on Sunday.
