A reminder that justice does in fact exist
In these troubled times, it's important to find something that makes you happy, and for me that's looking at what has happened to Oklahoma City so I can laugh. Hard.
There are times I doubt whether justice exists in our modern world.
It’s hard not to when you consider those bankers who caused the financial crisis of 2008 getting bailed out by the government. Or how Chris Taylor showed no hint of a stick with the talent-starved Mariners yet became an All-Star after being dealt to the Dodgers, who are so stinking rich they don’t even need to be lucky.
But in the words of Snoop from “The Wire,” deserve has got nothing to do with it. At least that’s how it seems, but in these moments in which life seems abjectly unfair, I like to remind myself of one specific example that sometimes people do, in fact, get what’s coming. I do this by consulting the NBA standings, finding the Oklahoma City Thunder and then laughing. Loudly. It’s a cackle really as I bask in the most glorious example of just desserts that I can think of.
