Biting into a big fat nothing-burger
We need to talk about why you shouldn't read too much into a recent report about D.K. Metcalf's availability before I take my best guess at what's going to happen.
Thou shalt not seriously consider NFL news that can not be disproven.
This is my first commandment when it comes to appraising the significance of a report on potential personnel moves in the NFL.
For me to take a report seriously, one of two things must be present:
There must be a specific, identifiable source. This source does not have to be named per se, but must clearly be an individual person who actually walks the earth;
or
2) The reporter must be risking at least a little bit of their own reputation whether it’s by making a prediction or stating an expectation.
I’m establishing this to show you why I am utterly indifferent to the report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler regarding D.K. Metcalf being available “for the right price.”
