Cardinals have commitment issues
Arizona didn't have to quit Kyler Murray, but they didn't have to go all-in with him, either yet they extended the quarterback in spite of several warning signs.
The Cardinals didn’t know when to quit.
In fact, they didn’t even have to quit, they could have just held fast this offseason when their quarterback was clamoring for a contract extension with an all-caps press release.
Instead, Arizona not only signed Murray to that extension, but they extended the contract of coach Kliff Kingsbury in what amounted to a substantial bet that Arizona was going to be the team it was for the first half of 2021 as opposed to the team from the second half.
That bet has aged … poorly.
