The most interesting thing about The Athletic's story isn't what Russ wanted Seattle to do, but what happened once Denver did what he wanted.

On Friday, The Athletic published a story that provides exceptional detail on Russell Wilson’s first season in Denver. However, the tidbit that has drawn the most attention is the fact the article states Wilson sought to have coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider fired after the 2021 season.

We kind of knew that, though, right? And I’m not saying that to diminish The Athletic’s reporting in any way. The story is thorough, it is fair and unlike many stories like this, there are on-the-record quotes from players providing a balanced view.
