I am unreasonably optimistic
The 49ers have won 10 straight games, won in Seattle less than a month ago and yet I see a pretty clear path of how the Seahawks could win Saturday's game.
I try to be a reasonable person. I do not always succeed in this regard -- especially when it relates to the Oregon Ducks -- but I genuinely try. I am cognizant of the tendency to exaggerate my preferred team’s chances of success heading into a game and I seek to curb unwarranted optimism. I generally steer clear of blaming the officials for the outcome should the team lose.
This is a long way of saying that I feel like a total rube, a hack amateur for the relative optimism I feel toward Seattle’s chances in San Francisco on Saturday. And the closer the game gets, the better I feel.
