I don't have an answer about Pete Carroll
Not only that, I think the questions about his future will add to the confusion of what will happen. But one thing is for sure: That Seahawks defense needs a hard reset.
Turns out that when it comes to earning a playoff berth, you can’t rely upon the Green Bay Packers to lose their final regular-season game every year.
Seattle beat Arizona on Sunday when one of the best long-range kickers in NFL history missed two attempts in the final 3 minutes, but the Seahawks failed to make the playoffs because the Packers beat the Bears, and as soon as Seattle’s season ended, attention turned to whether Pete Carroll will continue coaching the Seahawks.
Now I want to make something clear: I have no insight into Carroll’s future beyond what he told reporters following the game. I also don’t expect to find any clarity on that future from any of the discussions, debates and reports that will occur among many media members in the days to come. In fact, I believe that these discussions will actually make it harder to determine what is going to happen, which I’m pretty sure is ironic. After all, you would think that paying more attention to a given subject would get us closer to the actual answer, but that’s not usually the case but before I get to my rant on this subject, let me offer a few observations about this Seahawks season:
1. That defense needs a hard reset.
