Position paper: Seattle draft history
The Seahawks won't be taking a player at the position they've valued most in the draft under John Schneider. They probably won't use the fifth pick on the position they value second-most, either.
This will be John Schneider’s 14th draft as the Seahawks general manager, and the Seahawks have five of the first 90 picks in this year’s draft thanks to the pair of choices that are being conveyed from Denver to complete the trade for Russell Wilson.
Being a history major at the prestigious institution that is the University of Washington, I have decided to look at past Seahawks drafts under Schneider for some cues as to what they might do this week.
More specifically, the Seahawks have chosen 34 players in the top 90 over those past 13 years. Looking at which positions those picks have been used on provides a good idea of the value that Seattle puts on specific positions.
