Price is right for Geno Smith

I'm not sure if Seattle's quarterback is better than Kirk Cousins, but I do believe the Seahawks are much better off with him than the Falcons are with Cousins.

I’m not sure if Geno Smith is a better NFL quarterback than Kirk Cousins.

I absolutely believe, however, that Seattle is in a better situation at quarterback than the Atlanta Falcons, who signed Cousins to a four-year, $180 million contract this offseason.

This is not because I think Cousins is a particularly bad quarterback, either. I think he is an average starter in the NFL and there is some value to that. Just not as much money as Cousins has been paid first by the Vikings and now the Falcons, and this illustrates one of the pitfalls that Seattle has avoided at quarterback thus far in John Schneider’s tenure as general manager.
