(Running) Back to the Future, Part IV
The Seahawks certainly have a type, and if you've got an RB next to your name, they pay extra attention in the first rounds of the draft.
I’m impressed by Seattle’s selection of Zach Charbonnet.
This may come as a surprise to anyone who has followed my work for — oh, I don’t know — the past five years or so as I’ve made a fairly consistent habit of complaining about the very idea of drafting a running back high. For the record, my first screed was published before the Seahawks took Rashaad Penny in the first round in 2018, which means I was complaining about the idea of picking running backs early before the Seahawks started doing it in earnest. I repeated my objections last year after Seattle chose Kenneth Walker in the second round, and one year later, the Seahawks went ahead and chose Charbonnet, also in the second round.
Now, I’m not going to use different words to say the same thing I did last year. You can just go back and read it. Besides, as I said, I’ve got a certain level of admiration for the Seahawks’ commitment to this particular bit.
