Seahawks get their Grubb on
I like Seattle's hire because I love decisions that require guts and the Seahawks are absolutely leaving themselves exposed if their new offensive coordinator doesn't pan out.
To borrow my absolute favorite phrase of modern-day NFL lexicon, the Seahawks took a shot with their new offensive coordinator.
This refers to making a big throwing downfield, hoping to get a wide receiver behind the defense and gain a big ol’ chunk of yardage. It’s the football equivalent of throwing an upper cut at the opponent’s chin.
“Let’s see if they take a shot here,” the color analyst will say, when a team has the ball second-and-1 at the opponent’s 39.
Or how about two days before the Super Bowl? That's when the Seahawks took their shot, hiring Ryan Grubb to be their offensive coordinator.
