I think John Schneider would be a hell of a poker player, and I say that based almost entirely off the decisions he has made at quarterback while serving as Seattle’s general manager.
He’s aggressive without being reckless, playing a lot of hands without ever getting too loose. The decisions he made first with Matt Hasselbeck and then with Russell Wilson showed a pretty good understanding of when it was time to muck a decent hand, but it was the deal that Geno Smith signed this week that truly epitomizes the skill level of Schneider’s decision making. Let me explain why.
