The benefits of being a hater
Happy Thunder Elimination Day for all those who celebrate, which I do. Every. Single. Year. See you suckers.
One of the things I’ve learned about having a least-favorite team is that you have a much higher chance of feeling satisfied at the end of the season than if you’re simply rooting for a team.
Look at me, I’m positively glowing. Have been since Saturday night when I watched the Oklahoma City Thunder get bounced from the playoffs on free throws. I’m tempted to make some play on words about foul shots being a particularly appropriate dispensation of justice given the less-than-fair way the team was ripped out of Seattle, but that seems a little bit forced. I’ll just say that I woke up the next morning smiling in the afterglow of another title-less season for that city’s ill-gotten gains.
Damn it feels good to be a hater.
