The petty part of Pete?
Seattle's coach has made a habit of taking the high road when he has been criticized by former players. With Russell Wilson, the coach is the one doing the needling.
The first of Pete Carroll’s subtle jabs at Russell Wilson could have been chalked up to gamesmanship.
The Seahawks were just five days from hosting the season-opener when Seattle’s coach essentialy gave the fans the green light to boo Wilson. And when Carroll offered a couple of seemingly pointed comments the morning after that game, it may have been a reflection of the significance of that meeting.
But when Carroll mentioned Geno Smith’s use of a wristband last week with a not-so-subtle gesture in the direction of his former quarterback’s reluctance to do so, it became clear that Seattle’s coach has taken a bit of a different approach to this breakup.
