Trying to find a balance

Pete Carroll's team is headed in the wrong direction even as his overall observations on the importance of the running game are being validated across the league.

Remember when Pete Carroll’s antiquated approach to offense was going to be his team’s undoing? That was the expectation this offseason when the failure of the oldest coach in the league to embrace the full operational capacity of a franchise quarterback led to the departure of that franchise quarterback.

Yeah, hasn’t exactly worked out that way, has it? And in the midst of explaining the actual reason that the 2022 Seahawks season is in danger of skidding into the ditch, Carroll paused for just a moment on Monday to acknowledge the strange reality that he was being proven right even as his team’s season is going wrong.
