You look like somebody I used to know
Russell Wilson has changed teams and head coaches (twice) only to wind up in a role that looks an awful lot like the one he had here in Seattle.
Russell Wilson led the Denver Broncos to a comeback win in Buffalo on Monday night.
He had lots of help in that regard, though, because not only did the Bills commit four turnovers, they also had 12 men on the field when Denver was attempting a game-winning field goal, and the ensuing penalty gave Will Lutz a mulligan after he’d missed a 41-yard attempt to the right. Bob Condotta, Seattle Times beat writer extraordinaire, offered a pretty good joke on that.
Lutz made his 36-yard attempt, the Broncos won 24-22. Now, I’m not so petty as to be rooting for Wilson and the Broncos to lose. I am, however petty enough to point out the Broncos rushed the ball more often than they threw it for a second consecutive week, and after leaving Seattle in part because he felt stifled in Pete Carroll’s offense, Wilson’s new team has begun finding some success with a run-pass balance that is reminiscent of the one he found so restrictive in Seattle.
