It's not quite like that movie with two Jean-Claude Van Dammes (Twice the Van Dammage!!!), but it's close. It was fun meeting the other, better looking, more accomplished Danny O'Neil.
Thank you Danny for the heart-felt reply. Here's a kicker for you: my cousin's son is the current starting long-snapper for the Ducks. They are from San Antonio, so I was happy when he chose PAC 12 Oregon over Georgia, but then I realized I might never actually cheer for his team! #Beat the🦆
Excellent stuff, though I think there was some Jerome Bettis hanging around with your Danny O’Neil poster in the early nineties. I also object to you characterizing the other Danny O’Neil as the smarter one. Hardly seems likely…
Fun story (Husky) Danny! Duck-Danny really does seem like a nice guy who persevered to achieving his goal. Although I think only Huskies are able to take the high road like you have in this rivalry #GOHUSKIES
Thanks, Keri. It really was fun to talk to him, and he was an absolutely great sport about it. Rivalries are great in sports, but they also sidle right up to -- and frequently cross over -- the line between heated sports passion and actual malice. And in that regard I think all fan bases are equal: We all have idiots who routinely cross the line, and sometimes feel bad about it and some others who think that rabid hate is part of sports. I know I have crossed the line at times and done things I thought were good-natured or funny that actually enraged Duck fans. But at the end of the day, we're (mostly) adults rooting for amateurs who attend schools we feel passionately about. Thanks very much for reading. Go Dawgs!

And here I was about to ask you to join my flag football team.
PS: Everyone needs to be aware of this Jean Claude Van Damme song from Parks & Rec: https://youtu.be/ttsD5Ns3ekY
