I would certainly fall into your not as harsh camp. The Seahawks losing the turnover battle throughout this losing streak has not really been talked about. This was another example. Are the Niners better? No question. How much better? The line was 3 to 3.5 and I don't think I would change it if I'm Vegas and they play under the same circumstances. (For reference that is roughly the same amount the Hawks were favored against the Panthers and Raiders)
One thing that has come up recently that is comical. It seems that there are many fans both simultaneously upset the defense isn't very good compared to other teams and also incredibly enthusiastic to track our top draft pick? They know the answer to the question without realizing it. Part of the reason this defense isn't very good is that it doesn't really have any blue-chip players and that is at least in part due to not drafting high ... basically since PC/JS have been here.
For example, if Bosa changes jerseys, what would you think then?
The byproduct of a decade of success is also what has led to many complaints. In my opinion, let PC and JS play out this rebuild ... they have not had this opportunity since 2010ish. I am pretty happy with 2022 season, very happy with 2022 draft class, and I think we will be back on top of the division for foreseeable future in 2 years. Stay the course!
Rewatched the game - unnoticed was that Greenlaw had a similar easy interception he missed before Diggs' blown interception. SF offense relied on the big plays, not surprising with Elijah Mitchell and Deebo out.
Awesome to “hear” Danny giving us his thoughts!!
Much Appreciated!!!
