What a great piece. Captures the present and past beautifully. Reading it brought me back to 95 when, as a brand new (as in 3 weeks or so) Seattleite I turned on the tv to have something to distract me while doing some post-move cleaning and lucked into THE game at THE moment. It was a revelation and I've been a mariners fan ever since (heck, that turned me on to baseball). A mocked and pitied fan (especially by my daughter who claims I predict a winning season every spring.... she is mostly wrong there) but a true believer nonetheless. Many thanks.
