Yes, PNW fans are chronically resigned to mediocrity and in Seattle the formula has been mediocrity = $$. So almost no incentives to do better and the players and managers/ coaches have to learn not to rock this boat.
Yankee's, Lakers, Cowboys, Thunder losing in the playoffs always a celebration day. The worst day for Ford F150 in the parking garage guy. Bummer the game you went to was this one, but already playing with house money in this series.
The AL West being so bad is letting M's ownership slide a bit. Especially with some fans saying, look we're in first place don't worry about the offense. That's true but they wouldn't be leading almost any other division in baseball, the team has glaring flaws and we can't let the front office off the hook because they're in first.
Looks like they are making moves, and I can't sit here and continue to complain about something we've been complaining about for 8 months now. They're not gonna spend but because they're winning doesn't mean we let them off the hook. This talent should be 10 games over .500 with a couple extra bats. I just have to accept it, enjoy the wins and glare at ownership when I see them. In spite of you, not because of you!
I can at least understand -- if not support -- the arrogance of Yankee fans because, well, look at their history of championship success. What is completely, hand-shakingly unimaginable to me is the arrogance of Duck fans. Uncle Phil, Donald, and the rest of them have to be on your Mt. Rushmore of Fan Arrogance.
1) Duck fans are my biggest rival/foil. I feel stronger about that series than anything else in sports. I love antagonizing Duck fans. I can also understand how -- in their eyes -- Husky fans such as myself are equally if not more annoying in our pointing to the overall history of our program to overshadow their more recent success.
I see this as the result of a rivalry, though. I feel about Duck fans the way the Cougars feel about Husky fans.
2) My national axis of evil is those fan bases who are annoying based on entirely objective assessments of their behaviors. My list includes:
-- Notre Dame fans
-- Red Sox/Patriot fans
-- Laker fans
-- Yankee fans
I'm tempted to put Jazz fans on here. I would have previously placed 49er fans on here, but I've softened on that.
heavenly to even imagine that M's could be the team this year to un-fulfill their cocksure expectations in the post season. haha. cocksure.

Speaking of rooting for the IRS it reminds me of this video from Ryan O'flanagan: youtube.com/watch?v=MfCJThOuPuo

So I've got a couple of thoughts.
