This is good perspective. I do not know if I 100% agree, but I think I 90% agree or something like that. Perennial playoff teams sometimes have a bad year because winning in the NFL is really hard. I recall the Saints having some very bad years with Payton and Brees. Brett Favre had bad years; Donavon McNabb struggled after getting very close. This list can go further. The NFL is just hard, and I would rather see the Seahawks stick with a winning formula, where if the NFL stars (and the draft too, which is another discussion) align, they can get back to the Super Bowl in the not-so-distant future.

If Seattle loses to Jacksonville, I am going to bet it is on the defence; in which case there may need to be some serious philosophical considerations.

Lastly, this might come from me being a patient baseball fan (Thanks Mariners), but having an off regular season in Seattle may not be the tragedy we all think it is.
