This M's game awarded a Mitch-elin star
Seattle beat Atlanta on Monday night in a manner that Pete Carroll would have absolutely loved.
I would like to start off with an apology.
I’m sorry that I referred to Mitch Garver as “a Jack Cust” after one of his two strikeouts in Monday’s game against Atlanta.1
I also regret the fact that I asked my wife Sharon – a lovely and patient woman – “Why do I keep rooting for this team? Why?” as they fell behind 1-0 in the seventh inning. “The starting pitcher has to be freaking perfect for them to win.”
And while I’m in this mode of full transparency, I came VERY close to turning off the television and going to bed as the Mariners came to bat in the bottom of the ninth. I’ve seen this show before, I thought to myself, and it was past midnight here in New York City and that lovely and patient woman I mentioned earlier had already gone to bed.
I stayed up, though,
