Thanks for walking us through that, Danny. I don’t care for Bayless but do have a better understanding of what he was trying to do last night, and today. Reminds me of the old saying “you made your bed, now lie in it.” But it sounded as if he blames readers misinterpreting his Tweet for making him do that. Plus those exasperated sighs were a bit over the top.

As for the NFL, seems that for all its PR weapons and creativity, the NFL doesn’t know how to communicate. That’s been demonstrated time and time again (see: Snyder, Dan). And hardly surprising that this Sunday’s scheduling is indeed all about the Benjamins.

Excellent points. Like you, I loathe Bayless and his style of “journalism”. He has blurred the lines between a commentator and an utter clown. In this case, like so often when it comes to his takes, I have no sympathy for him. He deserves all the negative reaction coming his way - even with the clumsy “clarifier” in his tweet - and especially in his offensive over-emoting on the show that you played.
